Developing and Retaining Audit Talent
As organizations face greater challenges whether as the result of a pandemic, economic uncertainties, supply chain or industry disruptions, or whatever, audit committees and management teams are raising the bar on internal audit teams demanding that they “add greater value to the organization” in addition to the compliance assurance they currently provide.
Those increased demands are compounded by a very difficult labor market facing internal audit leaders today. Most internal audit teams have open headcount they cannot fill, putting internal audit’s ability to fulfill its charter and perform to the expectations of the audit committee and executive management at risk.
In this session we will explore how internal audit leaders can leverage the IIA Competency Framework and learn other development practices they can implement to develop and retain high performing team members.
Learning Objectives: After completing this session you will be able to:
•Understand the IIA’s Competency Model and how to apply it effectively
•Guide team members through an effective career mapping process
•Implement an effective staff development program to develop and retain staff
